I used to when I was like 10. Then I stopped and always have shorts. I remember a girl accidentally seeing my balls when I used speedos and i was like that's shame so I always have shorts now.

For exercise its a speedo or a jammer. Lap swimming is great exercise and speedos are 100% acceptable pretty much anywhere. No one bats an eye.

At the beach, I used to just wear trunks. I just went on a beach vacation and for the first time I wore speedos under my trunks and sunbathed in just the speedos. No one bothered me about it at all. And I came back from vacation with tan thighs, something I've not had in YEARS.

I think speedos are great in appropriate settings. If I'm with a group of friends or family, I'm going to cover up more. I see it as being considerate.

I never have worn a speedo nor should I. I'm too skinny and in America skinny is bad enough but a speedo is seen as either European, gay, or a problem here.

I lap swim at the YMCA for exercise and I wear them there and I love it but if I am swimming at the beach or whatever in general I wear boardshorts. I think I would get teased if I wore the speedos in public.

We had a swimming unit in PE and they took us to the Y for it and a bunch of my friends know that I wear speedos when I lap swim so they dared me to wear them for the PE class. Well a dare is a dare so I did and they had a good laugh and the PE coach turned about 14 shades of red but I didn't care, wore them for the whole two weeks of the swim unit and after the first day no one even reacted.

Definitely more of a European thing (in most cases) Though at the beach its mostly just really old men who wear them. I myself dont wear them and no one I know does either.

Im on the highschool swim team and we are required to wear speedos. In fact our team speedos for swim competitions are so tight that its crazy and you see all the other guys bulges

I wear a speedo to swim laps and tan. I wear board shorts with a speedo underneath if im hanging with my friends or family. I just got off a cruise on the Allure of the seas and i would go to the top deck drop my board shorts and just lay in the sun in a speedo and no one gave me any trouble. I just dont understand why Americans hate speedos? What is so wrong with a functional swim suit?
