A like system

So i spent a bit of time on gov teen and I reckon a like system would be good here. There's no negativity or like farming just an easy way to say yeah good post. What do you think?

Personally I don't think we need one. VT's doing fine without one. It doesn't have to be like Govteen (or Facebook, for that matter).

As Jess said, I don't really think we need one, this isn't really a social networky site, and after the stir rep caused, it's not really worth it. We're fine without it.

That's fair enough, I just saw it as a good way of expressing that a post is good or humorous, rep is a pain but that seemed ok, the fact that a like from someone with 1 post or 25000 posts is the same was a bonus for me.

I do totally get that, and I see where you come from. It was always nice getting that little +rep when you made a quality post. But I think you could always quote the post (if you have something to add) or you could PM/VM the person and let them know - it might be a little bit more 'troublesome', but it's also personalized, and knowing that someone went out of their way to say they liked your post is also nice.

But yeah, I do totally see where you come from with this suggestion, but I just don't think it's right for VT.

Not really since a like system would focus only on individual posts instead of a user's account.

But anyway, as much as I'd love to see this I'd have to agree with what's been said before that it's just not needed.
