I'm an owner of an Xbox 360 after having both at one stage. I find the Xbox much more fun. Probably because I play online a lot and I do find the PS3 a bit boring.

Saying that, I voted Playstation. The PS2 offered me tons of enjoyment, much more than the Xbox 360 or PS3 has managed to do. The PS4 looks like it'll offer more in terms of gaming than the Xbox One, so I imagine I'll be switching back to Playstation.

When it comes to current-gen I don't really care however I am slightly more inclined towards Xbox, so I'll vote for it. When it comes to next-gen I will middle finger both and get a WiiU then upgrade my PC, however, the PS4 certainly looks better than the Xbox One for now.

Well i own both... if you asked me in 2012, i would have to say xbox because thats where i played just about every game i owned but if you ask me now i would say ps3, I really dont play video games anymore and i haven't touched my xbox in over a month but i do still play ps3 because of the exclusive games

If you're talking about this generation, they're almost the same. If you really needed a robust online experience, then take xbox, but if you wanted it for free, you took PS3. Exclusives were a matter of preference (although Playstation did have more). Basically, people defend whatever their moms bought them.

If you're talking about the new gen? That's an EASY answer, fore tons of reasons: PS4

I've had a fondness for the PlayStation brand since the PS2 days. Alongside the N64, the PS2 provided me some of the best gaming years of my life - Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3, the Grand Theft Auto III era games, etc.

I own a PS3 and co-own a 360 with my brother, I never ever use the Xbox. I don't gave much nowadays, but I prefer the PS3, even if it's not quite as popular as the 360. Plus PS3 has Metal Gear Solid 4.

It seems as if the PS4 has the upper hand in the new generation, but I'm biased. We'll have to see.

This is a really vague question considering you didn't specify what generation...

First Gen Playstation didn't have an Xbox counterpart, so it wins by default.
Playstation 2 was a wonderful platform but I'm more inclined to Xbox during this generation.
Playstation 3 is a powerful system, as is the 360. It boils down to online play, really. I believe you get what you pay for. And in this aspect, the 360 wins.
Playstation 4 versus Xbox One? Microsoft tanked their newest system. Sorry, but I won't be picking up an Xbox One.

Playstation 2 vs Xbox= Playstation 2 as the winner. PS2 had the second longest lifespan in console history (March 4, 2000-January 4, 2013) second only to the atari 2600 (September 11, 1977-January 1, 1992) Had much better exclusive games and a better durability.

Playstation 3 Vs xbox 360.= Ps3 as winner. Free online Still better exclusives Better DLC Better online connection Better Services that are free. Xbox only had the edge on Playstation in the 6th gen.
