Is it normal to be attracted to my older sister?

Hello everyone! :)
I'll give a bit of background information. I am currently 16, male. For the past 4 years I have had sexual thoughts about my sister, who is 21 right now. I would just like to know if this is uncommon? It seems as time passes I become more and more attracted to her. We have become open with each other about sexual orientation and such this past year, which has only increased my feelings.... I just hope I'm not the only one :P

I don't have a sister, but I do have a slightly younger cousin that I fancy, though I've never acted on. There have been threads about younger teens exploring, and some people are OK and some aren't. Full blown sex (incest) is seen as wrong just about anywhere. We can't control our feelings. Dependant on how close you are to her, at least talk with her (don't freek her out!). Hopefully you can share some sort of close bond that a brother and sister can have.

It is kind of normal to have sexual thoughts about your siblings now and then, but not constantly, as it is the closest member of the other sex in distance and age to you. It should diminish as you grow, not become stronger. It could become a sexual deviance if left unchecked and evolves into actually acting up your feelings of attraction towards her.

If you think you could not stop thinking about her sexually, then it will be a good idea to seek counselling.

Most people aren't, although it is possible. It's called GSA, or Genetic Sexual Attraction. It's basically sexual attraction between close relatives (siblings, half-siblings, parents to offspring and vice versa etc.). It's alright, just be careful though cause if you have sex or anything it's classed as incest and is not only illegal in the UK, but can cause major health problems if it leads to offspring, which is called inbreeding.

I would think that an "attraction" as in finding her beautiful or sexual is not that abnormal at some time for a person. But if it is an actual sexual desire to be with her physically as opposed to an abstract, may sister is so hot type thing that is probably less common I would guess.

As stated --- your thoughts aren't as uncommon as you think. I seriously think you need to move on and pursue someone else:
IF she doesn't feel the same way you risk losing your relationship with her and the rest of the family
You are too young for her as she's 4-5 years older than you and you're not even an adult yet
If you become sexual and she becomes pregnant -- you're risking birth defects for the baby [due to genetic issues from 2 siblings having a child].
Your family could disown you if they find out about you both sexually ESPECIALLY if she got pregnant

That sounds about right. Hormones do that kind of stuff.

Also, there are quite a few people who like incest as a fetish (Though most would never admit it), and it can almost be viewed as common. Though, it's more distant-cousin oriented, but still. Don't feel bad about yourself.
