View Full Version : Help? Not attached to reality

I have never felt attached to reality. I couldn't care less about most of my "friends" and I'm not attached to where I live and the people I know.
I spent most of my time on the internet and though im very new to this forum it already feels more like home then the home im actually living. When I'm at school, I spent half my time thinking about different stuff then what the teachers say, or what my "friends" talk about. I really feel like everyone is replaceable, the exception being my closest family. Anyone else feel this way?

Yeah, I feel the same way a lot of times. But a more dramatic emotional sorta way. Only because I'm a teenage girl, and I have mood swings.

I was like that real bad for a while, I still feel sometimes I don't seem to belong anywhere or fit in with a lot of my friends. Its ok to feel that way, lots of people do.

What you really mean is that you're not worried about what your "friends" do or talk about and that you're just kind of in your own world a lot. I used to be the same way really and still am to some extent. I'm sure you'll find some (actual) friends that you'll share things in common with sometime in the near future. Overall, there's really nothing to worry about.

I feel pretty disconnected too. In fact, I dissociate a lot. I don't have many feelings for things or emotion. What can we do? This planet is evil.

I feel this way at times as well, so no you're not alone. It's probably just the people you associate yourself with, maybe find some people you connect with more. Also, not everyone is truly meant for school, honestly. Plus, school topics are really narrow imo, so I'm not surprised you feel disinterested.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean! I feel at peace on the internet, wether it be the rare Video Game, or VT, or Youtube. The Internet feels more like home than anything... Just wish my family could understand :(

The problem is you constantly seek diversions in life, such as the internet or thinking about your own personal wants rather than caring enough about the people around you to pay them attention. I'm not trying to be harsh, but I'm in the exact same situation as you so I get what your going through and have had a lot of time to think about why.
Get off the internet, spending time with your family is a great place to start. Then try focusing on what your friends are doing and saying around you. When you notice that you have lost focus or are day dreaming, just immediately practice on snapping out of it and refocusing your attention where it counts. You sort of need to force yourself back into reality. Best of luck!

I don't like my family they annoy me to much I can't really be around them. (and with family i only mean brother and parents, the others i never see) the only real friends I have live somewhere else so I rarely see them.
Most people just drive me too crazy for me to be friends with them.
I really like my fictional world much more

Yes, I have been away from reality for a while now, ever since December of last year when bad things started to happen. I couldn't even function in school I was so upset that eventually lead me to a alternative school. So I know how you fell man.

Life bores me now, so I gave up long ago...
I'm one of those 'seekers of death' I refuse suicide, but if my death is right in front of me, then so be it
...Oh! I hope that doesn't gloom anyone out, okay..?

I feel that way most of the time, I figured out teens get depressed more easily because we are simply overloaded with schoolwork, social life, and technology.
