What does a surprise hug from behind mean?

There is a girl who I like and she is also one of my friends. Both yesterday and today she unexpectedly hugged me from behind, squeezing me tightly. She only started hugging me a week ago and usually hugs me multiple times a day. So what does a tight hug from behind mean, if anything different to a normal front hug?

Well sure, if you wanna. Just now that if she doesn't reciprocate your feelings, it'll get awkward and then she'll probably drift away from you..

In all likelihood if you hugs you like that a lot now then it's either because you're really close friends or she likes you and is flirting. Take it slow, don't make a move yet but she may like you!
