buying condoms?

So my friend convinced me to get some protection, just so that if i ever ended up in a situation with a boy i can know i have them instead of having to deal with being in the situation and not having them. besides, i trust protection i know is taken care of more than i trust a boy to keep them safely out of his wallet.

So at the store, i realized there were tons of different types, plain, contoured, ribbed, her-pleasure, lubricated/unlubricated, different sizes and brands, female condoms (?), flavored, latex/nonlatex, the list goes on...even glowing ones lol

So i was wondering, for those of you who have used them, do you have any preferences or thoughts for things like how safe they are, how they feel for both you and your boyfriend, if he's comfortable using them as well as yourself, and other things that you might take into consideration when choosing?

Honestly -- unless they're novelty condoms they should be equally effective. I'd avoid the ones that have spermicide on them because it's a known vaginal irritant and could increase the risk of infection. Unless you're quite wet or you have a water based Lubricant -- I'd recommend lubed condoms. The flavored ones are overrated because if one licks it -- they taste latex -- yuckkkkkkkkkkkkkky. I'd recommend the thinner or the ribbed ones as they put an unique twist on them.

Be careful that you avoid sunlight and heat in the area you store your condoms...

I agree with what has been said. Really as long as they are a good brand they should be fine. The most important thing to a condom is that it is put on correctly and early before any penetration by the boys penis at all. Also don't buy huge or magnum. I know boys like to think they are large :) but in honestly if a condom does not fit the boy correctly it can come off inside you. One this makes it no good for protection, and also it is sometimes awkward to get out if it is totally inside.:eek:

Hehe, she's right, get normal lubed ones, I love the durex brand, had less breakage than trojans.

i'd say use a known brand like trojan, lifestyles or durex. and buy lubed condoms. i've always found that the unlubed ones break more easily.

dont get the ribbed ones because honestly they dont make too big of a difference. just stick to normal ones c:

just get a well known brand and make sure they have lub on them just in case u need it

I find the lubed ones the best, and i still swear by durex as my brand, never had a break and they fit most guys
