I think people ought to think carefully about changing their usernames rather than rushing into one, besides a lot of forums don't offer username changing, so it's nice we do.

The current limit, 180 days, is fine. Then again, I never intend to change my username, lol.

That's way too short in my opinion. If that were the case then it would be very hard to keep up with the constantly changing usernames.

Why? We already told why it shouldn't happen, but you aren't proposing a reason for this. besides, if the limit was shortened, as said, we would never be able to keep up with changes.

This is the first forum I've seen to let you change your own name, so you have better be content with what you have.

Think about it. 2 months is about 62 days. So what about 90 days? This would be better for a lot of people. I think it should be less. I mean how often do people want to change it anyway?

Not often, in my opinion. Not many people change their usernames, let alone multiple times. That's just my opinion though.

Nah. Twice a year is plenty, I don't really see why you'd need to change it more often. As said above, it just becomes to confusing with name changes, and you should pick carefully, knowing you're stuck with it for 6 months. I get changing it occasionally but more than twice a year is overkill imo.

Why do you feel the need to change every little thing on the site? It's ran for 9 years perfectly fine. There are always users who suggest changing all of these little things on the site that either shouldn't be changed or don't need to be changed and it always makes me think "why?"

And no, how about you pick one username and stick with it? It's really not a big deal to have a lame username on an internet forum. I've had mine for six years, and I don't plan on ever changing it. I have a history with this name, and I'd hate for others that want to create their memories here to have it tarnished with dozens of names they can't remember.

I'm a part of a forum that allows username changes all the time. From what I can tell, there's no issue there. People don't abuse the system. I'm not saying that's what we should have here, just raising a point that it can work.

I'm happy either way. I don't plan on changing my name for a long time, but I can understand the frustration some members may have, should they decide they no longer like their username.

I think that we should keep our username and to me I would only ever find the use to change my name once. It's a good suggestion though :)

Yes. There are some adults there, but to my knowledge the majority of users there are teenagers.
