I tend to group moments in my life into movie clips. Strange, I know. I'd like to elaborate on that, please. When something happens in my life, which is often, I play them back in my head from time to time. We all do this. It isnt anything new. It's called memories. Are you catching what I'm throwing at you now?

I was talking to my girlfriend the other day. Well, it wasn't really talking, but it was I listening. No, I was hearing her. I was texting friends, talking to them about how I was having a conversation with my girl, and it was fun. Far from listening. But that's off subject! So anyway, she took a look at me after she noticed I wasn't paying attention. She said that I seemed to be cheating on her, with my phone.

We both laughed and giggled, because I knew I wasn't really listening to her previously. I brought that up to my grandfather the other day and asked him what he thought. He surely must of known what my situation was. He had loads of experience with women. He was still hot on his third marriage.

Instead of him giving an answer that supported me and what I wanted to hear, he just shook his head. He asked me if I knew why the mother of my father split the marriage from him. I said, "I thought Grandma died." He said, "Yes, you're very correct."

He then changed the subject and started talking about his days in Vietnam. He does that often, so the fact why he did this didn't register with me, like usual. "The same reason your grandmother and me divorced is the same one why I almost died. The first bomb hit me and the second I didn't even hear. The guys in my platoon don't even talk to me anymore."

"It's all this woman's fault. You can't manipulate her to stop the toll she's taking on us. You can't slow her down, nor can you rush her. She'll be gone in a second, she's slipping through your fingers like sand. Her name is Time!"

"Cherish the girl you have, because Time will take her away," he said. I couldn't help but just stay speechless. I realized what I was doing. So now... I guess you could say that I have now broken up with my phone.
