How open about stuff are you with your parents?

I'm not at all.

If anything relating to puberty or sex or anything comes up, I try to leave the conversation. If we're watching a movie and a big kissing scene goes on, I just freeze in awkwardness (I don't make it look ackward I just don't move or anything).

When I'm with this one friend I have, it amazes me how much he can say in front of his parents. He's a few years younger than me. Which makes it more shocking for me.

Like we went into a fish market and he said "Eww it smells like cum in here" and his mom just said "oh stop it" and his dad said "how would you know what it smells like? Do you smell the other guys cum at school? Hey mom (his wife, my friends mom), I guess were paying $40,000 a year so they can teach him how to smell cum (private school)"
Another instance is we were watching a show and they mentioned jerking off and all that type of stuff at least 10x, and so his mom turned it off saying we don't wanna listen to that, and his dad said "Yeah I don't wanna hear him jerking off and shooting cum at the guys face (it was a comedy show and that was his joke, if he could just blow a load on someone's face As naturally, not meant srxually, but aggressively, kinda like what skunks do).

I'm not very open to my family period. My family is spread out, my dad is a few states away and my mom stays busy and is not one to talk on the things I've dealt or am dealing with plus, my mother is very spiritual and most of it she will hear no words of it.

It's just me and my dad and we are very close with each other. he acts like a dad, but he's also almost like a big brother too. He was only 18 when i was born. I've always been really comfortable confiding in him. I love him so much.

It would definitely be extremely awkward for me if I tried to talk about this kind of stuff...

I'd like it if they were cool and stuff, and didn't mind (but then I wouldn't feel so awkward about it so I'd have no problem), but... my mum says she wants to be open about it, and makes little jokes (but I'm just like... "oh god", and I think she got the message and stopped).
