So, there's a guy I really like at work. He's hispanic and English isn't his first language, but he speaks it well enough that we can have conversations with one another. He never fails to come talk to me when I clock in for work or when he clocks out, since that's usually how our shifts work. I love talking to him. He speaks English really well, but sometimes it's difficult to understand him because of his accent. And I feel like I have to be careful to speak simply and slowly when I talk to him so he'll understand me. I'm 18 and I think he's probably in his late 20s (25-28ish)

What do you guys think about:

1. Dating a coworker.

2. How old is too old? (Like, is 10 years age difference too big of a gap?)

3. Dating somebody who doesn't speak English as a first language.

Just to emphasize, I REALLY like this guy. He makes my day when he smiles at me. I get excited to come into work when I know he'll be there. I get depressed when he clocks out before me. Whenever I check my work schedule, I check his schedule, too, to see if we work similar shifts. The highlight of my day is when he comes over to talk to me. I haven't liked someone this much in years.

Well, the fact that he's a coworker is one thing. And he's several years older than me. AND he doesn't speak much English. You know, the things I mentioned in the post? I want some advice on how to go about things, or if it's a smart idea to pursue it in the first place.

1. Usually not a great idea.

2. 10 years is not too big of a gap. Even if he's 30, I think it's okay.

3. No problemo, senorita. Shouldn't be a barrier at all given he is proficient enough to have a conversation with.

I say go for it!
