In, my school, showering is a part of our grade. if we don't shower our grade goes down but we don't have to shower. i'm alright with school showers cuz it is just a bunch of guys. i mean we all have the same stuff. people don't ususally go out and say that they are lookin at other guys and most people don't even look. some will but it really isn't a big deal.

Usually freshman do not shower unless they are in the swimming unit. Even in the swimming unit however, nobody showers without their swimsuit on.

For normal gym class, nobody desires to shower or even has much time to do so.

Well at my school there are actually really nice showers. By that I mean they are ALOT cleaner than Middle School. But no one showers as far as I know. We do have like 10 minutes which I think is a fair amount of time to get stuff done but no one ever showers. We can if we want to though but I have never seen anyone shower.

last year in Freshman gym, only 2 or 3 kids ever really showered. but, this year-in Sophomore gym- most of the guys shower... it isn't required at our school

I also like it because I am curious and like to sneak peeks at the other guys...

When I started at my old school, showers were compulsory. But as time went on we had no time to shower before we had to be in our next lesson so it just sort of fizzled out.

We have, what, three showers for the Senior Cup Team (rugby) but we have no time even if we were supposed to use them.

At my school there is a communal shower in every changing room but no one ever has one, unless we've done swimming. I dont like the idea of sharing showers with my class mates, cause people at my school spread rumours alot. i could just imagine rumours starting.

I wouldn't use public showers simply for the fact they're gross and unsanitary. I prefer my shower at home.

at our school showers are required. if the gym teacher finds out that you didn't take a shower, he'll bump your grade down a full letter. and it's not a big deal, but our showers SUCK! i mean, it's all one room with a bunch of nozzles sticking out of the wall and a bunch of naked 8th grade guys running around. It seems like our school could afford warm water, but apparently not. WE get whatever water is in the lake at that point (at least it seems so). I swear my 50 degree needle shower that basically rips your skin off is against health code or something. long story short, we have to take showers, and it's not really a big deal.

They are optional at my school, but I am usaully taking swimming so I shower. We just have community showers with two little poles that come down and have shower heads on them. The only problem with our showers is that they have two tempurtures (sp), (Artic), & (if fire were a liquid).....lol but all in all it's not to bad

optional at my school, but a bunch of guys who play hockey shower together and jack off with each other in the showers. And they do a lot of other weird stuff that some people call "gay" but then they go around calling everyone else a "homo" and "fag."

At my school there are very nice, clean, seperated shower stalls with curtins. There is one stall for changing and the next one for showering. No one ever showers even if we had time. I would shower but its odd cuz i'd be theonly one showering so i dont do it. :]

There's showers there (invidual cubicals with 1/2 wall), but they're rarely used unless we've been swimming or there's enough time after lessons

I used to worry about this too.
But my school didn't even require showers.
That was last year.
And now I'm out of p.e. for good.
=]
Don't stress about it.
If people wan't to look and say stuff then
thats them.
Just don't pay any attention to them.
=D

In the UK its pretty strict about showering. In sports clubs you have to wear swimming stuff (well its not the law but the club could get sued really easily). I wouldn't feel uncomfortable showering infront of my class mates but our PE teachers keep on coming in while we're changing to take registers and stuff which we all find a little creepy.

My school has them and its suggested but not required. No one uses them though. They have two different stalls. Its like... half wall and curtains. One stall for changing the other for showering.

There are four schools in our district and I'll use some made up name to explain. VTC Elementary School which has a locker room and showers are in it. No one uses it, the boys locker room is rumored to be haunted and that rumor has been going on ever since VTC Elementary was VT Central High School back in the 50s. That changed in the 70s though when NR High School burnt down and was rebuilt as NR Elementary School. Then VT Central High School became VTC Elementary and they built a new VT Central High to encompass the NR and VT area. Which is now our Junior High and it does not have showers, then the New VT Central High was built in 2004 originally only had two shower areas (one for the boys and one for the girls locker rooms) but then in 2005 when the Pool and Tennis Courts where completed they added on another set of locker rooms and showers. Yet the only showers I've seen being used are the pool showers in VT Central High because its required you shower off before and after pool usage. My personal stance on school showers is that I don't really even care. I don't use them, but if I had to I would.

Note: I'm not including the emergency showers in the Chemistry Labs.

EDIT: From my previous post. One of my teachers is the coach of our wrestling team and he gave us the 3 min. rant on how girls NEVER shower and the guys always do during sports and how school boards are going make showers mandatory for all of the athletes. So it turns out that our showers do get used. Never knew.

well. i don't want to use the showers when i get to high school next year, but you know there a lot of lawsuits in the U.S. about schools that require showers, and people are trying to make them optional

I have PE 8th period so usually I just go home and shower. But last year when I had 5th period just before lunch. We all showered. It is acutally fun. Not like gay orgy fun. But just haning out and being comfortable with eachother. Its not big deal here. We're all fine with it. We respect eachothers privacy assuming they respect ours. So, yeah, its pretty safe if we need to.

Wow after making this i realized how old it is.

Our schools have showers that you can optionally use, i've never used them cause well i go home after the Phys Ed session (period). the good thing about our showers is that there in cubicles, kinda like toilet cubicles. That's the good thing about Australia, showering in school with other people around would kinda be Public Nudity, if it wasn't for the private property.
