View Full Version : Burning Hope

Mob Boss

Her eyes were lifeless, emerald drizzled with honey.
They had been slowly devoured
by those that exchanged her touch for money.
Her lips tasted of cigarette smoke and strange men,
all who desired the bitter taste of her sin.
Her arms knew a needle
like the sky knows the sun.
Her body knew the beatings
like a killer knows a gun
Hope was at the bottom of a bottle she'd thought
so for the burning hope, she'd always sought.
What little she had
she'd smile and say she'd exchange,
as her eyes and lips whispered "for a different name".
That grey October there wasn't a soul to tell
when her chilled body was found
and a scribbled note of "farewell".

Might me a little too much for those that are sensitive.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read, it's truly appreciated. :)

This is pretty solid. I love it, actually. It's better than most of the stuff I see around the Internet.
