Right guys I just wanted to know are you guys close with your dad? My parents are divorced and I have never really got close or talked about anything, is there people like me and I'm I alone. '-'

My parents are divorced but I'm not that real close to my dad.
Well in one way I am, but in another way I'm not.

I always preferred my dad over my mom after the divorce and the weekends and holidays we got to spend were more fun at my dads, I now live with my dad so we get along great, but I'm not close to him on a personal bond. We don't talk about stuff like when I'm having love troubles or just when I'm bothered, I just don't find the need in talking to it to my dad. I don't like talking about stuff like that with him.
I know he wants me to and I actually feel guilty about that because he must feel bad about the fact I don't want to talk about troubles but that's just who I am.

I like to keep my thoughts to my own, and when I need to talk I'll talk to my best friends. And very sometimes my mom, but that also doesn't happen that much.

I love my parents a lot but we don't have that strong personal bond a lot of people have with their parents. I hope when I have kids I will have a strong bond with them...

My parents got divorced when I was 1, Fortunately at that age mum found someone (Step dad) I'm closer to my step dad as my official dad is never there for me, he doesn't bother coming to see us and never makes much effort to organise stuff, its always me and my brother asking when we can come down. I would of loved for a realtion between my dad and mum where they could enter each others houses and everything would be perfectly fine, it kills me that my father has never been there, I think im a quite child because I never really had a dad who really cared about me. I know I have a stepdad who i'm thankfull for, but since my brothers came along.. I don't get attention anymore as they are "priority".

Don't let the realtion ship go, might end mine with dad. Not sure. It hurts when I see other people happy with their dads.

It's just me and my dad and we are super close. I'm comfortable talking about anything and everything with him. In some ways he's almost more like a big brother. I love him so very much.

I live with my Dad and Bro. Mom left us ages ago. So just my Dad for everything. He is really really cool, we hang out 2gether we fish 2gether, go to Wall mart, discuss stuff.. BUT I know he is not ready to accept Im gay.

my parents have been divorced for a long time now...but I love them both (and they me) fortunately daddy is here local so we have it worked out now where although mom technically has custody of me I spend three months at a time at mom's and three at dad's...matter of fact july is time to go to dad's :)

nope I'm not close to my dad that much. My parents are divorced and my dad is very controlling and has to know about every aspect of my life and control every second of it. When i am over his house (he lives in another state) we don't do much, we don't really talk at all...

My parents are divorced and my dad lives in the next town over, so we aren't as close as some people are to their dads. But I wouldn't call him distant either.
