What is the best way. Is there a difference between asking her out saying "would you like to go out with me" or saying "would you like to watch a movie and have something for dinner"

Just wondering what is the best way to ask out a girl and make them think it as a date and not as friends.

Usually I simply ask them in private and with sincerity whether they would like to go out me or not. Sometimes I'll bring it up in a joking matter to see her reaction. Of course I personally get rejected 95% of the time so I'm not sure whether you should necessarily follow this advice or not...
