View Full Version : Stupid Hair

I need help with my hair. I unforunately have very thick hair. It's pretty difficult to brush it the way you like it, so I usually just end up going into public with bed head. My question is, what should I do with it?
My hair is long, not down to my shoulders long, but long. I'm also blonde, if that helps anything. Usually, I will try to style my hair so it's going to the side. (My dad likes to call it the "Justin Bieber Look") But doing this hasn't really worked for me. Would cutting it shorter help? Or should I try a whole new style?
Also, school is ending in less than a month, so I could change something over the Summer. I don't know yet.

I'd love to have your hair type. Mine is really thin.
You could use a conditioner that usually makes your hair more soft and easier to comb.
Use castor oil treatment on you hair, just a apply some in the morning and wash it off in the evening. (look on the web for more precise directions)
You could also use a untangling hair spray, it will help you alot.
Get yourself a hair straightener. I straighten my hair daily and it keeps it in place. Remember to use heat protection, or it might damage your hair!
A final result, layer your hair. I did the fatal mistake to layer my hair 2 years ago and I looked like I was gollum, my hair was soo thin. But on you, it might look good. Just remember to go to a stylist, do NOT do this at home.

Thanks, I'll try one of those soon and see if it helps.

Try using a different brush. The stronger the better. Also, brush the ends first. Brush it regularly but try not to do that when it's wet. You can try not rinsing out your conditioner (that's what I do and it doesn't make my hair all oily because mine's thick too.)
Hope I helped!

Try getting it trimmed a little bit. Ask the person cutting your hair that you want it cut into style a little bit, and don't be afraid to ask him or her for advice on how you should wear it either. There is a lot that you can do with it, it's just a matter of personal taste.

Before I answer the actual question at hand here, I have a question for this guy ^^
LEAVIN IN THE CONDITIONER MAKES YOUR HAIR NOT BE OILY??? I have horribly greasy hair every morning, and nothing I've tried helps it. My mom thought that the suave 'daily clarifying' shampoo would help, but no. Does the conditioner thing you mentioned help?
Anyway, I've got thick hair too, and my girlfriend likes it long, like you probably have it. But when its long, I get lazy too and don't brush it. Luckily, unlike you :P my hair just falls into a naturally beiber style type thing, and I'm okay with that. Less for me to do right? But when it gets too long, it stays in my eyes. That's when I start straightening my hair, and that helps. As long as I put a hat on so it knows where I want it to stay, and once its cooled down, it stays there

If you're specifically trying to get your hair to be less oily, try rinsing it with black tea, diluted alcohol and/or diluted vinegar.

That sounds exactly like mine. I just never brush it and it works out
