:):cool::yeah:
I LOVE JAPANESE HORROR. AND OTHER ASIAN HORROR. BUT ESPECIALLY JAPANESE
Even the most disturbing, weird, random, dark, messed up, stuff.
It doesn't need to be: scary, creepy, intense, spectacular, or whatever!
The story and atmosphere is just so amazing
I have watched SO MANY of these movies.
I don't even know! All I can say about japanese horror movies:
I like the -creepy ones
-messed up disturbing ones
-random ones
-the ones with the great stories
What asian horror do you like?
I like japanese the most, then korean, then chinese, then Thai.
Maybe Im the only one in this forum that watches this stuff anyway.
If you have no idea about this whole side of the movie world, I reccomend you check out the original movies of the Ring and the Grudge, which are both remakes from the original japanese films.
-Ringu (1 and 2)
-Ju-On (JuOn is an entire series of movies)
and some other good ones
-Suicide club
-Audition
and for asian horror in general:
-The House ( Thai horror)
-Three extremes (1 and 2, japanese korean chinese and thai horror)
Anyway. Just wanted to get that off my chest.
Maybe nobody will see this anyway. Maybe you will. I don't know. Maybe I need to stop typing. Okay. Bye.

There are three types of conclusions to horror media.

The protagonist overcomes the horror. (Gringo horror)
The protagonist succumbs to the horror. (Japanese horror)
The protagonist IS the horror. (Very rare, more common in Japan)

Yes, Japanese horror is great, better than gringo one at least.

the most atmospheric, best fuckin one is Kairo (Pulse). Quite beautiful and disturbing at the same time. Deals with ghosts, suicide, and eventually the end of all things.

Here's Noroi: The Curse in its full on YT.. The only movie to ever freak me out. And this is coming from the craziest nignog on this site! Ha! Something about this fucking movie! FUCK!

Also if you like Suicide Club you should check out Shion Sino's other movies. He's actually my favorite film director! He is my fucking love! Guilty of Romance, Cold Fish, Himizu, Noriko's Dinner Table, all really fucked up sad movies.

Also this isn't much of horror then it is a revenge film with tons of gore, but it's done extremely well and pretty powerful too. I Saw The Devil -

I guess other revenge films are the obvious - Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, can't remember the other one off the top of my head right now...

Yes, I have seen Noriko's dinner table! I like how it actually all links together to the suicide club. Great movies.
I have also seen I saw the devil, which I thought was great but a bit too long.

I very reluctantly clicked on the topic, and very slowly scrolled down. I have some deep-seated childhood issues with Japanese Horror.

But on the plus side, that means Japanese film-makers are the only ones who manage to scare me. So they're good at what they do? I mean, I was watching most classic American horror effortlessly at the age of five (my mum's a huge horror fanatic) and not until Ju-On when I was eight or so did it start biting me in the butt. Still love horror movies, but I just need a longer therapy session that week.
