What is an "unreg?"

I noticed in some "older" threads, some users, usually with a small post count, get a smiley (with no avatar) that is gray and says "unreg." I'm just curious as to what this means.

Unreg means "Unregistered". Either he is new and has not verified his email address yet, or he changed his email and has not registered the new one yet.

It usually means that they changed their email address but did not re-activate the account through the activation email.
