Why do girls do this?

Ok so I've like a few girls but they always acted liked they didnt like me back, but i knew they did cause people would tell me so. And now that im in high school they still do it. Its annoying how do i get past this? Ive tried being nice and and lightly teasing. Help?

You knew the girls liked you or disliked you because of what others told you?

Without knowing the specifics -- it's possible:
*You're not their type
*You didn't do enough to woo them
*You tried to hard
*They may see low or maybe too much confidence from you and that could deter a girl.

Well i mean they always acted mean. I knew they liked me but i dont get why they act like they don't? A example would be i talking to them, teasing a bit but not too far so that it doesn't get annoying. She would go along with. Then boom they would be mean.

It could be they just aren't great expressing their feelings, or maybe you're reading her wrong

Why do girls play hard to get? As far as I know, to make sure the guy actually likes them, and to enjoy the guy's - their crush's - attention without making it serious. Just a guess. Girls can be odd.
