Every so often, an Admin will have a questionaire that you take, and they judge you by your answers and your past behavior on the site.

I wouldn't mind becoming one lol. Do you know when the next questionaire will be posted?

19. How do I apply/become a moderator?
Mods are chosen in one of two ways:
1. There is an opening posted here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34). You write an application according to the guidelines in the thread, and the senior staff chooses the new moderator(s).
2. A senior staff member will PM you, and consider you as a moderator, without an application.
Do not ask to be a moderator. Just be active, dedicated to the site, and willing to help out whenever you can.
Also, if you apply to become a mod, there is no guarantee anyone will be chosen.

There will be one when the admin thinks there needs to be one

We don't always do apps when selecting mods.
Also, asking to be a mod doesn't help you, lol. We just modded two new people, so I'm not expecting anymore for a while. Keep an eye out for apps and be a good member and you might be considered.

Val, that was exactly what I was going to say.
I was expecting 2 new mods before it happened. That was after Val became Global and Derbear retired. Keep an eye out for retiring mods etc as that will probably signal that they will be looking to be replaced

My guess would be like a few months. I think you'd be a good mod because you don't seem to break any rules. I don't want to be one my self though. Even though I'm on here all the time, I don't think I'd be that great of a Mod unless it's in like the White Padded Room or something like that. There are soooo many ways to monitor p101 that I think I would screw up some how. it'd also be too much work! Anyways, good luck. :)

The biggest mistake you can make is backseat modding, or telling people what you think they should do when you're not in a position to do so. It gives the impression of arrogance, which is generally not liked, among not only your fellow members, but the staff as well.

Nope, he was just mentioning that :) As long as you follow the rules, you should have nothing to worry about.

In addition to all the answers already posted, if the staff are looking to take applications to hire a new moderator, a thread may be posted in this forum (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34). You can browse a little and see old threads if you're curious.
