Yes. If you have had sex then your hymen will be intact, if you have it wont be, which they well be able to tell by looking. If your worrying about him (or her) telling your parents then don't, he cant due to doctor-patient confidentiality (Data Protection and Patient Confidentiality Act 1998 if you're in the UK).

he can assume if your hymen is broken, otherwise there is no way of him knowing.

If your hymen is not broken, then no. If it is, it's a possibility, though that can be broken in other ways. If it's very recent, and DNA samples are taken, then yes, but if just looking, then probably not.

Yes he can. A torn/broken hymen is an indicator of a loss of virginity

NO he can't.
Unless you had intercourse with someone minutes before the check-up and he does a vaginal inspection and finds SEMEN there, he can't.

Many women are born without the hymen, which is what they usually check for to see if a woman is a virgin. Many more are so active at sports that their hymen breaks during the sport and they don't even realize. Others masturbate and thus break their hymen unintentionally.

So, if he does check your vagina... he can't CONFIRM you're not a virgin he can just check if your hymen is still there.

I gather 1st sentence was a typo [see colored addition]
Not necessarily true since hymens aren't always a given -- freak accidents down there -- rape victim can have hymen torn [being a rape victim in my eyes doesn't lose their virginity since they had no choice] -- tampons -- masturbation -- bike or horseback riding -- and even sports can damage the hymen. A tear in the anus could indicate anal sex has occurred.

If they examine you and notice symptoms of a STI then they can assume you're sexually active but again STIs typically indicate sexual activity NOT intercourse.

there is this thing called hylum if u have sex it'll rupture (losing virginity) so if a doctor looks at your vagina and sees no hylum he'll suspect that you had sex although hilum can get rupture during horse back riding or during some martial arts or any strong physical activity

Even if the Doctor can it's not really an issue, I mean they are legally bound not to reveal it to anyone

actually if she's underage doctors are bound to tell the parents even if she refuses ,, what you are saying is true in case she's legal

No, that's breaking patient doctor confidentially which can only be broken if the patient is a risk to the general public or to them-self

Yes if your hymen is broken

Actually one of my very first posts in VT was "what is a hymen" and after that I did all kinds of Googling and then they even talked about it in Health class so I've gone from Hymen Ignorant to Hymen Expert. a broken/ruptured hymen does NOT mean the girl is not a virgin. Hymens can be broken from horseback riding, gymnastics, bicycles, martial arts, accidents, lots of ways besides sex. The only way a doctor can tell a girl has had sex by looking at her vagina is if there is a baby coming out of it while he's looking at it.

actually if she's underage doctors are bound to tell the parents even if she refuses ,, what you are saying is true in case she's legal doesn't matter if the patient is underage. Doctor's can't reveal patient information without patietn's permission unless the doctor knows a crime is committed. like abuse or rape or whatever. so if there are cigaratte burns on the patient he has to call the cops (not tell the parents but the cops) sand same with evidence of sex abuse and all that. but if a 12 years asks for birth control the dr can't tell anyone w/o the patient's permission. the reason a minor needs parents permission for abortions (at least here) is cuz that is a medical procedure and a minor can't sign the consent form cuz only an adult can do that cuz it's a legal document.

trust me i took a medical ethics course ,, what you are saying is only valid if the patient is 18+ ,, if the patient is underage the mother or the father must be informed about everything if they ask... if the doctor hides anything he or she might get into trouble

Only if you are a girl because your hymen will be broken however a guy will have Erections (not nonstop though) all through the night and sometimes have a wet dream or ejaculate to go along with it.

maybe that's true in Saudi Arabia but according to my health teacher that's not true in Alabama. idk about the rest of america

Maybe,, the thing is that at an early age as 12 years old the doctor might suspect her losing her virginity is a sign of abuse in that cause he's obligated to call authorities (code pink) or at least talk to the family about it

It's possible that Saudi Arabia has those guidelines. However, in the United States, United Kingdom and other countries -- regardless of age -- a doctor can only release medical information with the patient's consent unless the patient is endangering one's life or their life is being endangered and sexual activity typically doesn't fall under that [rape -- suicide --- assault -- attempted murder -- knowingly spreading STI & HIV/AIDS can apply here].

from webmd: if your hymen is broken it does not mean you are not a virgin. It can be broken from tampons, sports (volleyball, basketball, track, soccer, cheerleading), playing outside in general, riding horses, fingers, falling, etcetera. A doctor can not tell HOW it has been broken.
hymen does not equal virgin. broken hymen does not mean you've had sex.
