what is ednos?

From what ive read about ednos im pretty sure i have it but im not really sure what it is? Like does it have to be properly diagnosed by a doctor an if you are diagnosed then what happen next? Can someone just explain to me simply what it is please?:(

Well, any disorder needs to be diagnosed by a doctor

I mean ednos is basically having criteria for another eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia, etc) but not fitting all the criteria. For example, someone might have all the characteristics of anorexia, but not have be underweight and still have their period - thus they can't be diagnosed with anorexia and would likely be diagnosed with ednos instead.

If you are diagnosed, the same thing happens as for any other disorder. Therapy and treatment and such. It's hard, but worth it.

I was told I had EDNOS as I fitted all the criteria for purging type Anorexia except for the fact that I did not have my period.
