Lately I have been noticing that my genitals give off a not-so-pleasant odour and it worries me. Im thinking its just the sweat buildup down there and it eventually starts to smell but is there anything I can do to prevent the odour?

I really dont think so, frequent showers and some deoderant perhaps?

yep, just ensure that you always clean the area well and use deodorant where necessary.

Yuri and Stephen have pretty much got this covered.

If you do this but the odour persists, then seek medical advice.

i think there is special deodorant that is more like a sorta gel spray that you can buy for down there

Is that natural odor from the penis?

Sure mine stinks and I do wash it but it still has that smell so that has to be the natural odor from the penis itself

Wash yourself properly with soap and warm water in the shower. Why not try a bit of baby powder (or talcum powder) on the area afterwards and see if that doesn't help. It's normal to be a bit sweaty after playing sports or some other activity like that as well, so the best fix for that would be to take another shower! :P

Well, we all have our own unique smell. Which is pretty consistent. If it's a new smell, then you have to consider the possiblity that you've gotten jock itch (which is a fungal infection). They smell, and create a red, burning/itchy condition on the afflicted area. Check around and see. Over the counter remedies are available at yor drug store.

If not, make sure you're retracting and washing properly. After a day (esp. of vigorous exercise, like BBall), you can notice a smell.

I have no foreskin to retract, but I think the guy said it before it's just the natural odour of the genitals. Girls have it too, but it still bothers me. Oh well

My bad about retraction (Glasgow=Scotland=Europe=uncut). I usually remember things about people, or do a quick check of prior posts to familiarize myself for accuracy sake. Sorry!

Anyway, if you're cut, there's really no odor there, is this new? If it is, I'd check for a nasty like a fungal infection (red, itchy/burning), and smell! If not, then try a deoderant soap. Maybe your nose is very sensitive? Maybe it's a smell from, um, your backside?
