Yet another case of Islamic extremism/insanity *sigh* Click Here (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20071211/wl_canada_afp/canadapolicecrimereligion_071211175557) for story
OTTAWA (AFP) - Friends and classmates of a 16-year-old girl who police say was murdered by her devout Muslim father in a Toronto suburb told local media Tuesday she was killed for not wearing a hijab.
Police said in a statement they received an emergency call at 7:55 am local time Monday from "a man who indicated that he had just killed his daughter."
The victim, Aqsa Parvez, was "rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but tragically passed away late last night."
Her father, Muhammad Parvez, 57, was arrested at the scene and will be formally charged with murder when he appears in court Wednesday, said police.
The girl's friends, meanwhile, told local media she was having trouble at home because she did not conform to the family's religious beliefs and refused to wear a traditional Islamic head scarf, or hijab.
"She wanted to go different ways than her family wanted to go, and she wanted to make her own path, but he (her father) wouldn't let her," one of her classmates told public broadcaster CBC.
"She loved clothes," another of her friends, Dominiquia Holmes-Thompson, told the daily Toronto Star. "She just wanted to show her beauty ... She just wanted to dress like us, just like a normal person."
According to her friends, Aqsa had worn the hijab at school last year, but rebelled in recent months.
They said she would leave home wearing a hijab and loose-fitting clothes, but would take off her head scarf and change into tighter garments at school, then change back before going home at the end of the day.
The victim's 26 year-old brother was also charged with obstructing police in the investigation.

Yet again
Cut off the head and the beast shall die
I still think the middle east as a whole has become far to arrogant
and Its time we went back to the time honored version of peace known to work through out the century's; peace through superior fire power.
That thing of a man
should be locked up in a maximum security prison under solitary confinement
unable to see the sun or stars or even the faces of the security guards ever again
But that will never happen
if
IF he is convicted within a few yrs he'll be eligible for parole
because Canada never likes to offend anyone
you know religious beliefs and different cultures and all that other crap

CBC and the "muslim community" are already doing damage control and down playing it
"I don't want the public to think that this is really an Islamic issue or an immigrant issue," said Mohamed Elmasry of the Canadian Islamic Congress. "It is a teenager issue."
See its a "teenager" issue
its all her fault!
sometimes
this country

Right well I dont understand extremists at all, its like they kill people for making a mistake or not wearing a hijab, you know its like if your catholic you can confess but killing people for there "sins" or whatever the islamic faith call it is a bit too far.

I completely agree. I go to toronto sometimes to visit my grandparents and I see women completely covered in robes while only revealing their eyes or sometimes face. They force their children to follow their religion and be an outcast in school. Imagine what it would be like to be in a school of normal kids with normal clothes, and your a girl with these big robes on and a thing covering your head. If you move to canada follow the canadian trend, dont bring your country over here or any other country for that matter. We were nice enough to give you money for a house and food so live by our rules.
*Sorry if that was abit extreme but im just frustated*

You see!
Fighting the Americans and Israelis is not enough for these fucked up bastards (excuse me for my language).
They shouldn't be considered humans, they act more like wild beasts.
The poor girl wanted to have a normal life, and her father couldn't respect that? Need I say, dumbass?! It's her life, she should have the right to do what she wants. I mean, she wanted to fit it with everyone else, but nooo...she has to be punished.
Hang the dude, we don't want his kind kind around.
Put him in jail, make him suffer.
Psh, something must be done, before a WW3 occurs, and I am extremely serious right now.

It's the murder that upsets me, not the motives behind it. Also, Glasgow:

Are you implying that clothing trends are equal to law, and that conformity should be practiced by the whole fucking country?
Also, how are we "giving you money for a house and food"?

Because, the government provides work in the country for people who want to work, therefore providing them money, which lets them purchase a home to live in, and food to eat.
Obviously.
But, the better question is, why would we want to provide these types of "privileges" to those that don't deserve it? It's a 'free' country and all, but why do a favour for those who take an advantage of it, and sometimes uses it for bad things?

That's not giving them money, that's giving them a chance to earn money, just like everyone else. Also, in the future, please do not say things such as "Obviously", it is very arrogant and rude.
