I told a girl who is my friend from my school that I like a girl and the girl who is my friend said awwww. The girl I like is in my friends sports team. So why did my friend say that? What does it mean?

Some girls just find anything of the romantic variety cute or sweet. It doesn't really mean much; she just thinks it's cute. It's definitely not a bad thing.
