How do you approach a guy~?

I'm new on this forum so.. this post might be a bit bumpy. Please bear with me TnT;;

I like this guy but he's really popular and I'm not. He's going to high school next year while I'm stuck in middle school so I feel like I need to make a move. The problem is that I don't know how to approach him.. i don't even think he likes me because my friend asked him, "What would you do if she tried to kiss you?" and he replied, "I would smack her" in front of me.

Should I give up or keep trying? (´～｀；）

First of all, popularity is a joke. Why do you think he is popular? Is it because he has a lot of friends? He does things that are supposedly cool to get attention. For instance, him saying he would slap you if you tried to kiss him. He was showing off... If he actually would slap you, he's an asshole. I'd just forget about him.

Yeah, just let go. There are plenty, plenty, plenty, plenty, plenty of other fish in the sea. That's what I'm trying to think and I'm having a hard time. Good luck!
