So recently the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, Mike Jeffries, was questioned as to why the company had stopped carrying items size 10 or larger for women said:
"In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids... Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don't belong [in our clothes], and they can't belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely."
After reading this, do you guys feel like it's still okay to wear their brand (Abercombie, Holister, etc.) when they are basically supporting bullying? Personally, I'm okay with wearing it, but now I'm kind of thinking that I am supporting bullying by wearing it. Idk haha just wanted your thoughts.
Btw if you guys did stop wearing their brand, what brand did you turn to?

I will never understand their thinking on matters, I can't wear their shorts or jeans because they don't make my size, I'm not to big around, but too tall... You can make clothing that looks good for tall people too... I just don't understand their thinking about sizes...

Nope. I do not like wearing overpriced stuff. I spent 70 euros last time I was clothes shopping. 2 T-shirts, 2 shirts and some pants.

I never liked A&F really. I always thought their clothes were cheaply made and not good looking on me. Plus it's not really me.

Abercrombie & Fitch is a fucking rip off. I wouldn't wear A&F even if they didn't support bullying

I honestly don't really care. I've stopped shopping there awhile ago, I still have a few sweaters and tank tops that I wear, but I don't have any of their clothes with the big logos or names plastered on the front.

I don't care about the brand I'm wearing. However I don't believe just because you wear the brand you support bullying.

Ambercrombie & Fitch is too overhyped, your paying 20 or 30 dollars for a fucking t-shirt that bears the company name, congrats you've just become a walking billboard. I'll stick to adidas shirts, throwbacks and polo...

The sad truth about most companies is that it's all about money. Whichever way is the best way to rake in the dough is the way to go. If it's bullying, so be it. The CEO most likely doesn't know many of the victims personally, so he doesn't care.

I have never worn A&F clothes, I might at some point although I doubt it, plus, making big sized clothes does have a downside to profits since it will take more material for a lesser amount of people.

I hate A&F clothes, I cant really tell the difference between their clothes, and a pair of 20 jeans.

That is just a form of marketing really... Appealing to a group of people who probably don't have the best of qualities in character.
I don't think wearing the brand ''supports bullying'' BUT it does support the company and I am sure that type of marketing in some way will create more bullying.
But in summary:

Other than my Gilly Hicks lingerie, I don't have anything else from Abercrombie stores. I sure as hell can't afford those prices and i'm not gonna ask my dad to buy me a $90 pair of jeans & i dont think theres anything great about clothes from A&F or Hollister. The only reason I have any GH stuff is because I had a gift card. The GH stuff in my opinion isn't even all that sexy either.

Well, I never wore them to begin with, and can't wear them now, but even if I did, I wouldn't.
And that's one of the most ignorant things I've heard. I don't see why a person over a size 10 can't fit this description: "...attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends." All it's going to do is promote bullying and anorexia.

This was like 1-2 months ago.
I never have worn their clothes, but I have always wanted one of their jackets. But it's like $200 and I don't know if I could spend that much in a jacket, currently. Hopefully soon I can.
If I did have their clothes, I'd still wear them. Out of all honesty, the CEO said something that many clothing brands already do. He just had the balls to actually say it. No clothing brand wants their clothes to be worn by hobos or the ugly, but they don't point it out. Brands like Hollister and A&F want it to be "exclusive", even though there are many brands that are even better than those like Ralph Lauren or Tommy Bahama.
Also, it was pointed out that they burn the clothes that aren't bought, yes, it may sound bad. But it really isn't. It's a way to make sure they're brand stays exclusive, which is pretty damn smart.
