When cooking in my food technology class, the girl I like from the class (I like someone else from in my school) touched my arm. She sort of placed her full hand on my arm and tapped her fingers onto my arm leaving her palm on my arm about three times. Also when looking at the recipe we were given, her hands were close to mine (almost touching). Also as we were passing the equipment to each other her fingers touched mine (like she purposely wanted to touch my hand).
This girl has never shown any signs of liking me previously other than looking at me a few times and talking.
So is she breaking the touch barrier or just being friendly with the situation of what was happening?

It really depends on the girl. Some girls are unfamiliar with physical contact and touching a guy would take a lot of courage. Others however, are used to guys(for instance, she might have a lot of male friends or older brothers) and touching, hugging, or even cuddling might not be a big deal.
My advice is to pay attention to other details. Does she laugh at even your lamest jokes? Does she glance at you often? Does she seem to smile more than usual around you? If so, she is interested.

If I've learned anything about girls is they can be very flirty for no reason. It's just fun for them. It confuses guys and sends mixed signals, but lots of guys end up thinking a girl likes them when the girl was just enjoying the feeling of exciting a guy. It's totally unfair and it leads guys on.
She might like you. But seriously, she might have done it for no reason at all.
