What are your thoughts on the new gaming console; OUYA?
SIZE COMPARISON (OUYA, Xbox360 Slim, Playstation 3).

I personally like it, I'm debating whether to get it or not.

It's a brilliant idea, but I can already tell the app store and online features will be limited. On the other hand I'd rather buy this than the new playstation or xbox.

This sounds like pure genius compared to the new 8th gen consoles. This, surely, beats both Xbox One and PS4.

It's pretty amazing seeing this company go from Kickstarter to a real thing, it's like watching an idea become a reality.
Although I would probably never get it, I'm waiting till the PS4.

OUYA is a piece of crap, a complete let down, and this is coming from a backer and dev!
only slightly more powerful than the Wii (which means yes, it is considerably less powerful than any of the other next-gen consoles. Wii U, PS4 and XBOX ONE pack in far more power), no real security and the crappiest game controller I have ever seen...
Unless you have a really strong desire to play Angry Birds and other android crapware on your TV this is a console to skip... hardcore games? forget it... not even a casual-only console, this is more for phone "gamers" only.

It's a great idea but it's execution is going to be poor, It's a small device and it cannot handle that much going on at once. Yeah it's gonna be cheap but then you're gonna get what you pay for.

The problem with all new consoles is that no developer is willing to take the risk of porting it or making a new game, just for that. Because if it fails, then the shareholders will be less than amused, and quite rightly, too.
While it's an interesting idea, whoever is behind that will have to do a big marketing push. And continue doing that. And wait. Neither Sony, Microsoft, nor Nintendo became world-famous on their first year.
That controller, at first glance, bears a shocking resemblance to that of the PS4.
And another reason: game developers, especially indies, can't do everything on their own. So they rely on Sony or whomever to help them market and distribute their game. I see no such offers from OUYA.
And lastly, porting. Let's say that Insomniac decides to port Fuse to the OUYA. They're going to look at how much work it is to port that game. Now presumably they have some very system-specific things in there, such as special effects in assembly. They're going to estimate how long it takes to port, come out with an outrageously high number, and say, fuck it, that takes far too long. And this is assuming the OUYA can even do all of that.
I'm fine with my PS3, thanks.
