This turned out to be a lot longer than I thought, so if you get bored, pretty much just skip to the end.
Well, I have a friend named Kaitlyn. She's sweet as can be and really sensitive, always upset about something. She just turned seventeen and found out last week that she was going to have a baby girl. She was four and a half months pregnant. Friday, she was going to work, and apparently had lost control of her truck and ran off the road. She was not wearing her seatbelt, and was thrown out of the windshield after rolling three times.
I got the call thirty minutes later. At the hospital, another friend and I were told that Kaitlyn might not make it through the flight to UAMS, a different hospital two hours away. Also, the doctors told us that MaKaylee hadn't made it through the crash. We could not even believe it.
We didn't follow Kaitlyn's family to the hospital, but stayed in constant contact with them. Upon arriving at UAMS, the team that rushed to her aid discovered that she had a punctured lung, lacerated spleen, and possible damage to her liver. But, they found a faint heartbeat on MaKaylee! So, during the night we are all so excited and start letting ourselves hope that both our girls were going to turn out okay. We lost MaKaylee last night, while I was blogging actually.
This morning, Kaitlyn woke up. She was well enough that she could talk to her sisters, and told them that she didn't just run off the road. Someone ran her off the road. They weren't paying attention, and they killed a baby. Didn't even stay to see if Kaitlyn had survived the crash.
Basically, I'm freaking out. Who does that? Who causes an accident like that and just Walks Away. Shit. I mostly just needed to rant, but seriously if anyone else has had to deal with something like this, how did you get through it?
