The past couple days my parents have been treating me like I'm nothing more than a piece of shit. On Tuesday I came home from a friends at 11 and my parents stayed up and when I walked past my dad he just started yelling that he could tell I was on something. I only had 2 beers at my friends house so there was no way I was drunk but when I told them they acted like I was. The next morning I had to go to school and I went out to my truck and my keys were gone. My mom hide them from me because she said I was drunk driving but I bought my truck with my own money so I don't see how she could think she could just hide my keys. Then yesterday my friend gave me a ride home from school and they acted like we were out getting high. They made me take a drug test and it showed up clean but still say I was out doing something. Today I found my keys and I'm thinking of just leaving. One of my friends already said I could live with them for a while but I dont no if I should. I really need some help.

This is very likely not what you want to hear, but it sounds like your parents are just terribly worried about you. You just admitted to driving home after having two beers. Unless you drove home several hours later, there is a very good chance you *were* over the legal limit. I do not drink anything at all if there is even a *chance* I might be associated with a car at some point that night.

Have you done something besides this to concern them that you might be doing drugs? Have you ever done drugs?

In any case, leaving is not a good idea. Do they support you? That might stop if you leave. And what happens when your friend's hospitality wears thin? Please give this more thought.

Best of luck!

From what I read it sounds like both of your parents randomly started treating you like this a few days ago so what did you do to bring this on.? If you didn't do anything, then trust that there is a reason they are being so protective now.

It's not just the last couple days. I can go out and work my ass off on something and do the best job I can and one of them will walk out and tell me it looks like shit or that I shouldn't have even bothered because it's worse than before.

I say, leave a note very respectfully stating what your issues are with them, but respect is key, you need to show them you can act like an adult. In the letter you need to be as exact as possible. explain everything. Then leave it for them to find, don't hand it to them. Then leave, wait at a friends house. Don't tell them where you are going, just say you have plans to stay somewhere. Judge their reaction, if they come after you yelling again and such, see about getting emancipated, if they come looking for you and are just glad to get you back, move back in. Sometimes, talking face to face is bad and both parties need time apart to really solve and issue.
Good luck! And I know how this feels. But you must remain strong.

I hate myself for going MATURE on this but...

DUDE, They are fucking worried about you, underage drinking and driving, getting home after 10 on a school night. Those are signs of a troubled and out of control teenager.

They have all the reasons to think you are in shady company, and probably ruining your chances of a brighter future. Even if you bought the truck with your money, they do not want to risk you driving drunk again.

I'm pretty sure that this was not the first incident, you probably have been behaving like that for a couple of weeks now and they are just doing what they have to do, being parents.

Leaving will not solve anything, unless it is the booze life you want, listen to what they have to say, and establish a conversation where both are willing to hear each other out and thing about what is said.

If you think you know better, then do as you please, but remember that you will be on your own, and they want to be there for you.

Just my 2c.
