auto delete

hey just a suggestion, recently ive been trying to clear out my pms and like most people its gonna take forever to delete them all, my suggestion is that when a message gets over 2 weeks old it should be automatically deleted to clear up space

I think that's unnecessary. As someone who has been part of this site for sometime, I like to look back over past PMs as well as also have older PMs for evidence in case there was something inappropriate there. Also, you don't really need to clean out the PMs. The limit that you're given with is enough. Plus, you can delete many by just ticking the boxes. Unless you have a ridiculous amount of PMs, then it will take forever.

Where all those 'Tick' boxes are, at the top, there is a tick box that selects all messages in the inbox/outbox. Then delete.

Then do one page at a time. If you really want them deleted then you'll go through the trouble.

Honestly, a lot of people like to save messages that have personal meaning. An auto delete feature is not one that a lot of people would embrace very well.

If you're /really/ to lazy to click a select all button and click delete for every page of PMs you have, that's kinda sad. It's really not that hard, and it can't be that time consuming out of your day. It would just in general be a bad idea to delete PMs after 2 weeks. The inbox is large for a reason.

You could just delete a PM as you get it if it's that big an issue. I really see no reason to do this. It's not hard to delete them. At least there /is/ a select all button and you don't have to individually select them. Plus theoretically, if you clean it periodically, you shouldn't have more than 3-4 pages, which would take you less than a minute to delete. Even if you had like 10, it wouldn't take that long. I really can't see this being implanted at all.

There's honestly no reason for this. Like Val said, if you are worried about the amount of PMs that you send/receive then just keep up with it as you go.

You're pretty much excusing your own laziness here.

Click the "Empty folder button"

and bang,

They are deleted.
