I've seen the concept of Love brought up so often on this forum but not one thread to simply talk about Love itself.

What does everyone believe about love? Do you believe in it at all? Do you only believe in the love a parent has for a child? What would you class as love? Have you ever been in love?

Talk about all these and more!

Personally, my opinion on love changes depending on what mood I'm in. If I feel it's a romantic sort of day, then love is a "many splendoured thing" and it's the only thing you need and it can overcome all obstacles. :P

However most days I'm a cynical little shit who, somewhat clinically, classes love as "strong affection with a healthy dose of lust". Cynical, you see? Now I've never been in love so if it ever happens that viewpoint might change.

Don't get me wrong I love my friends and my family - it's only romantic love I have an issue with.

One thing I do believe, however, is that parents love their children and that sort of protective devotion surpasses all other emotions. Nothing is stronger than it and nothing can overcome it.

So I'm cynical but somewhat idealistic. You?

I feel like this type of love "One thing I do believe, however, is that parents love their children and that sort of protective devotion surpasses all other emotions. Nothing is stronger than it and nothing can overcome it." And this kind, "Personally, my opinion on love changes depending on what mood I'm in. If I feel it's a romantic sort of day, then love is a "many splendoured thing" and it's the only thing you need and it can overcome all obstacles. :P" Go hand-in-hand.

I love love, lol it's the best thing ever. It's pro's far outweigh the con's. it's just all around happy good times. :D

love is love is love.
different sorts of love is just love filtered through the context of different relationships.
but at the base of it, love is one.
i also see love as the same thing as happiness, just that which is caused by another persons being.

Unfortunately I don't really believe in love being a spiritual like thing.
I just think it's a lot of chemicals in the brain, and strong feelings for someone, I can still say I fall in love but I don't think it's magical or anything :P

Love is a nervous reaction to seeing, or in some cases, other senses someone (important to the person)
