Why hasn't this post (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=177755) been locked because it is discussing masturbation techniques but this post (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=177904) was.

This seems really inconsistent and sexist. I get why there are rules on the forum, but shouldn't it be the same for both sexes?

Well spotted.

If I may add... Why is it that polls which are obviously directed at boys, have to be put in the 'puberty for both' section? It makes no logical sense. Who made that rule?

We're human. We have lives. We ain't robots. If you see something that breaks the rules, report it. We try our best to get to everything, but sometimes, we just can't.

This.

No forum's staff is perfect, there are millions of threads on the site, not every bad one can be spotted at the instant that it's posted -- that's why we have the report button. If you report a thread that you think should be locked because it's either inappropriate or breaks another rules then you can help out the staff by bringing threads to our attention -- because otherwise we're always on a wild goose chase through 32 sections to find them.

I just wanted to add if you think a thread should not have been locked, PM the staff member who locked it about it. Sometimes threads will be reopened if it is deemed it was incorrectly locked.

I TOTALLY understand.

At school, we have a video analysis channel, and posting is open. There are over 500 videos on there, and commenting on them is open to all. Parents, stupid kids, strangers who just spam up things on the site.

The sports prefects have a report button, and it seriously useful

That second thread seemed a bit different. If the phrase "am I doing something wrong" was edited out (or not put in there originally), it probably would have been fine, IMO. It seemed a little harsh, based on five words, but whatever. It's been locked and moved to the read-only forum, where ironically, you can't respond anyway.
