I'm not really sure what's happened to this forum. It used to be that members actually respected one another (to a degree), and wouldn't start petty, meaningless arguments with one another. Sure, there's always been bashing here and there, but it's the Internet - that's expected.

However, things have just been turning worse and worse over the past few weeks. Insults are tossed around as if they're just part of the argument. Can I ask, why? Why do you feel the need to insult someone, or their views? I'm not asking you to agree or give in to whatever the majority says, or whatever the "louder voice" in the thread is. That would, of course, defeat the purpose of a debate.

What I am asking, however, is for all of you to show respect to one another. I'm not asking you to like each other or each other's views - there would be no reason for that. I'm asking that you use this forum correctly. Part of that includes being mature, respectful users. And recently, that hasn't been the case.

The majority of you have been throwing around insults left and right simply because nobody seemed to care. And yes, this is an internet forum and I truly hope that none of you take any of those insults personally, but I know that isn't always the case. Sometimes the "fuck you" and "dumbass" comments actually do affect people, and that's not right. VT isn't a place for that, and this is not going to continue.


I know I rambled a lot there, but I'd appreciate it if you guys actually took what I said seriously. In short, cut the name calling in here - it only makes you and your argument look worse. If it continues, infractions will have to be handed out. And to be honest with you, I really don't want to spend whatever time I'm on here writing infractions because you called X this and that. I know you guys are more mature than that, so please act like it.


I encourage you to PM me if you'd like to discuss anything I mentioned in this post, or just about ROTW in general.
