You wanna talk with her, be funny etc. But it's best not to leave it for too long, otherwise the girl gets real comfortable around you and then when you go for somehow thinks that could screw up the friendship(?) So yeah, talk with her, be nice, make it a point that you want to talk and spend time and stuff, then 'pop the question' so to speak. But don't just shout at them, did that due to nerves once, didn't go well...

yeah, you should be yourself. sometimes you need to take baby steps and get more comfortable talking to her, then be friends, once you get to know her then ask her out
