I had a panic attack last night. This is completely new to me, I'm normally really calm and collected, not panicking. I was just wondering, anyone else here have panic attacks?
What should I do? Only my best friend knows, and some other friends know I have mini-panic attacks sometimes, but never the real thing like.

I have them too. They come with anxiety but if you aren't getting them frequently then I wouldn't worry about them so much. Panic attacks are normal to have if you are stressed out or something and it ends up being triggered so just try to avoid the trigger, if you know what it is, and just forget about it.

I'm no stranger to panic attacks -- I get them frequently.

It's okay, just relax. The best way to stop a panic attack as soon as possible is to just keep calm. I know, that sounds insane, right? Keep calm during a panic attack? Psha.

Just talk to yourself, tell yourself it's all in your head. Relax as much as you can, distract yourself, do whatever you can to deter your mind. Panic attacks are all in your head, although they seem very real, just keep calm.

I also agree with VictoriaGotaSecret -- find out what's making you anxious, and see if there's a way you can move away from the situation that makes you like that.

My mom has a clinical problem with that. It's your brain sending out a false signal. Like a misfire. Sometimes stuff triggers it. Too much caffeine can trigger it. Not enough sleep can trigger it. You have to ride it out or take a prescription pill when you have one. My mom will take a special pill if one starts to get bad. That's the only time she has to take it though. I think it's called zanex.

Yup, that's what it is. If you get panic attacks regularly (and they're bad), they'll usually prescribe you with xanex, which will help calm you down. Be careful not to abuse it though. I have xanex of my own lol

Yeah, she only pops one when she has to.
