We're all afraid of rejection, you're certainly not alone in that!
However, if you're confident in your approach to it, you might score yourself a date!
A relationship won't just fall into place conveniently! It takes a little bit of risk!
If she says no, then maybe the time isn't right and you can either move on or just try again some other time! It'll hurt at first but you'll also get over it with time.
However, you'll never know without asking. Just go for it! We've all got your back. :D

I'm afraid to apply to the University of Alberta in case they reject my application, how could I ever show my face to my peers?!
I sound a little silly don't I? Honestly bud, there's countless women out there you can ask out, same as there's countless colleges and universities to apply to. It doesn't mean you're out of luck!

Is it really rejection that you're afraid of? The worst she could say is no and most girls wouldn't even say that, they'd say "oh, I'm sorry. I'm interested in someone else right now".
Think of all the times you get rejected - Mom, can I have ......? and she says no, I don't think so. Or a sibling that you ask to do something or borrow something. You're friends? Same thing. Happens all the time. It's not a big deal.
Maybe it's because you don't know her very well and you're not sure if you'd be comfortable around her so change that. Maybe invite her to do something either with other people or something that isn't a date so you get to know her better. Like studying together at the library or after school or grab a cup of coffee.
I think you'd feel a whole lot better about it if you worked on just getting to know her. Hopefully some girls here will comment and give you some ideas. Hint, Hint , ladies :)

Statistically speaking, I believe I get rejected from 90-95% of the girls I ask. Sounds sad, I know, but the difference here is I'm able to move on relatively easily and the same girls that rejected me remain my friends with little to no damage to that said friendship because I don't act awkward or isolate them after the rejection. A no is a no, accept it and move on. The absolute worst thing you could do is not pursue a romantic relationship with someone you really like out of fear of rejection, because you'll end up regretting it more than you ever could actually being rejected. Trust me on that. The second worst thing you could do is let a rejection affect you negatively and treat her differently simply because she was honest enough to tell you no. You are a young man now, not a little boy. Life's chalk full of disappointments and the better you can endure them and not let them change you, the better the person you will be.

When I get rejected I put it behind me and think that they are going to miss out on a good relationship

That's just part of the game, man. Suck it up.
Don't be afraid to fail. It's the only way to succeed.

The thing to remember when wondering if you should ask some1 out is that if you don't then you'll never be with her. Asking a girl out is seriously scary, i know, but you should try or you'll never know if she would say yes. . 'You don't ask, you don't get' my mate always says!
