Hey everyone :)

I was wondering if it could be possible to remove the restriction that keeps users from sending private messages until they have a certain post count.
This would allow forum reading applications on mobile devices to support private messaging on VT for users who already have that post count reauirement.

Thanks :)

No, this will absolutely not be removed. There's a reason we have it set up, really.

4. Why do you need 100 posts to send a Personal Message?

VT has a requirement to have 100+ posts in order to cut down the amount of harm a spammer could do before he/she was stopped.
This is also set in place to protect members from being harassed or solicited by other members. This rule is for your own safety and security on the site, and will not be changing any time soon.

Before you post a suggestion, please look through the first page or so of suggestions because this one has been suggested at least 3 or 5 times in the last two months.

Yes and while we are at it shall we just invite the cammers and sexual predators. This would be a terrible idea, the PM restrictions are in place for one reason: Security of our members.

People can easily be solicited via private message. Plus 100 posts can be gotten within a day or a couple of days.

When you're a new member you shouldn't need to PM that quickly anyway. You can PM the important people right from the start which would be the Virtual Teen Staff.

Honestly, 100 posts really isn't that hard. If you're here on good intentions, you can achieve that easily in a short time.

Also, you're well above the post limit, so why should it bother you that much?

I can be corrected if I'm wrong, but this was suggested because due to security issues, PMs are totally disabled on taptalk, as people with under 100 posts could PM if they used it. Thus, it's disabled for everyone.

But with what was said above, this isn't really possible.

Oh yeah, I get it now..

Still won't happen. If people need to send a PM, I guess they could just use their phone's web browser (I know it's annoying, but if you're desperate)
