Okay, here's an obscure one :D
Can we add a SoundCloud embed bbcode so that it would be easier to share songs in the Music forum?

Yeah, if that could be done, it'd be good.

It would be cool but I don't think it's needed due to Youtube videos being just as good, and that SoundCloud removes copyrighted music.

I like the idea, but I have to agree with Sandeep on this one. It just seems pointless as long as we have the Youtube tags. The only benefit would be for users who put their own work on there and not Youtube. But even then that only applies to a small portion of users.

A lot of indie/dubstep artists have all their songs on SoundCloud and having a video is unnecessary due to it being a bit bulky, and the sound quality may not be as good. It's a simple addition really, and I think it could be beneficial in some cases.

I support this. If we implemented it, it wouldn't hurt the site in any way.

Well personally I could see the whole site being full of soundcloud embedded widgets full of orange buttons everywhere. Which would be a lot more sluggish for users rather than the simple [youtube] code, besides, if we're a help site, it's not a huge necessity.

Even though it isn't a need, it still wouldn't hurt to have it. Is having YouTube tags a huge necessity? We do have those tags, but I don't see them much unless I go to a music thread or something like that. Also, from my experience, embedded YouTube videos take about as much as time as SoundCloud widgets to load, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Wonder.

Maybe it's changed in the last 8-12 months, but when I'm on my phone, soundcloud players are slow to load and slow to play and really glitchy. It's not terribly slow, but slower than youtube for sure. If I were to visit this site over 3G, I'd be screwed if there were a bunch of them.
That's not to say I'm not in support of this idea if it's easy, but it's not really necessary. Also, I've never really seen anyone actually use soundcloud. Maybe one or two people, but for the most part everyone I'm interested in uses bandcamp. Bandcamp players are a bitch to load even on a computer though, so I don't recommend that.
