Is it possible to extend the human life span by atleast 50 or even another 100 years? It would be actually pretty cool if we could live for over 220 years.
This can also help in cases like deep space exploration, and working in deep space environments with the help of Genetic Engineering and using Nano Bots to help strengthen our skeletal structure and our muscle mass.
This is the idea that I have for it.
What do you guys think?
Also: No comments with "Genetic Engineering is wrong" will be allowed. If you do not want to allow humanity to better itself through genetic engineering, don't post.

I would rather have other things to make me live longer, and I would never genetically engineer myself inless it is really common like plastic surgery

No it would not, you would be wrinkled to death, with a deteriorating mind, not able to walk, not able to remember, or control your piss. Would that be cool for you?

Hahahaha This is exactly what I was thinking!

I think anything past like 125 is a little extreme..Once your past that age your basically a vegetable..

I think it is a good idea. It just needs a little bit of the addition of anti-aging.

i think life can be extended very far, but not by modern medicine.

Hmmm it can be achieved with genetical engineering. I would love it, but only if you start mentally and physically detoriating in the last 20 years of your life, as it is with most elderly now. It can be done by making a cybernetic machine, putting the brain and some crucial organs in a heavy life support system, yet small enough to fit in our machine body, and we are essentially immortal. All limb loss can be repaired, and the only thing what can kill you is the destruction of the life support systems. Which is unlikely. Maybe use genetical engineering o make an actual living skin like in Terminator, a physical feature to make you look more human.

people used to live till 30 if theyre Lucky now if your luckby you can live to 70, 80, 90, 100+

Who the fuck wants to live to 200+???
I think it would be fucking horrible.

Closed minded thinking aside, it would be possible to live to 220 years if we slow down the aging process to allow for that to happen. I wouldn't go as far as 400 or 1000 years. But 220 is still cool, especially if you age slower than a normal human being.
Genetic Engineering would not be wrong in any way as it can help better humanity. I don't see why people say it's wrong to genetically engineer a human fetus while its still developing to make it better than its parents and to make sure it can't contract any dangerous diseases or would be immune to things like AIDS and most of our diseases.
Genetic engineering can also help prevent deformities and many many many other things. Also, living for 220 years can better humanity, it won't be horrible, it would actually be bettering our society, and also make deep space exploration or deep space colonization (far future) more possible than with our current life spans.

It'd be cool. Though, I wouldn't get genetically engineered.

Humans weren't meant to live that long. I'm not sure how efficient that kind of technology would even be. Personally, I think it'd be a waste of time to invest in that kind of research. Overpopulation is already becoming an issue; we don't need more people in the world. It would be much more beneficial to put research into curing diseases and things like that.
