Two earthquakes near the Ontario-Quebec border could be felt across both provinces this morning.

Natural Resources Canada seismologist John Adams said the first quake was 5.2 magnitude and about 18 kilometres northeast of Shawville, Que.

The second quake came 10 minutes later from the same location and registered at 4.1 magnitude, said Adams.

Earlier, the quakes had been reported as originating near Braeside, Ont., about 75 kilometres west of Ottawa. Braeside is the location of the measuring station.

Residents in eastern Ontario and west Quebec said the shaking lasted 30 seconds.

Well that explains on how some people from my school felt an earthquake today...

It sucks for the people stuck in the middle of it, but it could have been a lot worse.

Living in California, I have become indifferent to earthquakes. Unless my house crumbles.

It wasn't that bad actually. The building shook and the lights flickered, but airport operations remained unaffected. Could have been MUCH worse.

If I lived on a major fault line I think I would too, but this kind of thing doesn't happen here, although this is the second in 3 years.

Haha, yeah. I forget to mention if others are hurt too, then it's a big deal.
