Okay this is a serious thread and I have a real question...
I'm a bit old jut to be starting tampons but I just tried them today and I'm a bit confused.
Right first of all I chose "super", I know that I should have chosen something lower for the first time and you're supposed to use the lowest absorbance possible for your needs, so I should have gone lower.
Basically I tried for ages to get it in and when I succeed it wasn't even in properly. It hurt to walk and I couldn't pee properly or anything.
When I went to take it out it hurt like hell, finally I just sat on the floor and relaxed all my muscles and it slid right out. So it definitely wasn't in right at all
When I was putting it in it just kept popping out again. I know I'm meant to tilt it towards the bottom of my back and I know I'm meant to relax and I was doing all that.
I'm a virgin and I'm starting to ask myself whether my tampon was obstructed by something.

I've seen ALL the diagrams and I know all the names for my bits and pieces but that doesn't matter because names mean nothing and every single one of us has a different body. It's all a bit of a mess down there, and I may have been seeing something else but I'm pretty sure I have like a full hymen. When I opened myself up completely I just saw pink and no hole. I was definitely looking in the right place and am 90% sure this was my hymen. I know it's very rare for girls to have no opening in the hymen.

So is it possible my tampon didn't go in at all? Or is it more likely to do with the tampon size and should I downsize? I was going to downsize anyway, but if it has nothing to do with size I was going to wait a while before I try it again.

This is why I use pads.

It was probably the wrong size.

You should always start with the smallest size and it should slide past your heyman. Yes it may be uncomfortable for a while but you'll get used to it. If not, then its probobly not inserted as far as it should be. You'll have to experiment with that for a few times. A little Vaseline on the tip will help it slide in easier the first few times. Yeah those diagrams were probobly created by guys!

Yeah its kinda tricky, what TinyDancer has said is probably the best way, I usually use pads unless I'm doing something like swimming then I use a tampon, you have to get the angle right too if you want ti insert it properly, if you don't then the tampon will be at the wrong angle and it will hurt when you walk, believe me I know!! hehe!!
