Hey guys, I'm a small-time Youtube commentator, and I was wondering what are some ABSOLUTELY FREE programs similar to Sony Vegas or something like that.

Rules: There can be torrents.
No viruses or trojans, please.

iMovie is a really good one that comes free with Mac.
VirtualDub is another useful one (only windows compatible).
ZS4 is also quite good and complete (Mac, Windows, and possibly Linux compatible).

Go and buy Corel VideoStudio Pro X5, it's about £30 and you can do quite a lot in such an easy to use interface, even my favorite, chrome keying!

What are you to expect when you illegally download software via torrents? That's a no brainer. Most torrents contain them thanks to cracks/warez/keygens. Buying the software will leave you trojan free.

I've used Cyberlink Power Director to edit videos, which I found to be really easy to learn and use. To record, I used Snagit. If you want to produce quality stuff, you can't expect quality programs to be free.

Why get something similar to Sony Vegas when you can get the program itself?

If you don't mind paying or torrenting (stealing) I would highly reccomend premiere pro. It has a nice interface, is complex enough, but not overly and is very feature rich.
