20 year old friend still gets grounded

I went to my best friends house to see If he wanted to hang and he told me he's grounded because he went to see his girlfriend but he forgot to do his chores! He's fricken 20 years old 4 years older then me and he still gets grounded isn't that stupid his mom still treats him like a little kid because he has a learning disability he should learn to stand up for himself and everytime he's around her he acts afraid "mommy I am sorry mommy" "mommy I didn't mean to" god i wish he would stand up for himself and be a man!

I have a mate thats 23 and named him the hermit, he works but his mum gets all of his money and he has to ask to go out and to get his money of her, hes tried moving out and she also wouldnt let him I feel sorry for him but he is the baby of the family the youngest out of all his brothers and sisters

Personally I find it respectful. Whilest he lives in his mom's house, he follows her rules. The money thing is a bit OTT though...

What kind of disability? I know people who can't function normally, and their family gets money to "take care of them" and sends them out to the streets most days...

He is so scared of what she could do, he is willing to let her control his life entirely. She likely gets money that should be spent on him, and never is...

People like her make me sick! There's just nothing you can do, except report it and stand up to her yourself

Perhaps he is a child at heart. Age has nothing to do with how mature a person really is. The mindset determines that.
