Orthodox Christian Q&A
I used to be a pretty zealous Orthodox Christian. I learned a lot, so ask me questions about Orthodox Christianity and I will do my best to answer them. Even though I stopped believing in God, I think that learning about eachother's culture and religion might help bringing us, as a human race closer.
All athestis who dislike Christianity and any other religions, do not post anything other than questions about Orthodox Christianity. I do not want this turning into a heated and pointless debate where we would convince eachother that God exists or does not.

I totally agree with the first paragraph.
But don't misuse "retard".
I'm an Assembly of God Christian, and i don't know wat orthodox is about. Did you believe in creationism? What are your thoughts on Jesus, or at least what were? What were your values on stealing? Can you tell me a little more?

They (Orthodox Christians) are one of the oldest branches of Christianity, their roots can be traced to the Byzantine Empire. I generally think it is older then the Catholic.Church, since the Patriarchs , spiritual leaders of Orthodox Christians were in religious authority long before the Pope. Their teachings are as follows:
God created everything. Respect all ten Commendments. Follow the New Testament primarily. Every canonised Orthodox church has it's Patriarch, instead of Pope. God will forgive you every sin if you repent truly, and strive to sin less. How are sins absolved.in the Orthodox branch? Well, you get fastened, essentially you cannot eat dairy products, eggs, all kinds of meat. Only fish and plant-based stuff is on the meny. Then beore the communion, you go and tell your priest all your sins. Then he chants a prayer and says that your sins are absolved and to go to the next communion to take the blood and body of Christ. The "blood and body" are sanctified pieces of bread in sanctified red wine. The absolution ritual takes place as you step in front of the oltar room, with your hands on your opposite shoulders, and the priest takes a bit the "blood and body" in a spoon and puts it in your mouth. Now when yo learned a bit about Orthodox Christianity, I will answer your questions.
God created everything. That is what they believe in. I used to but I stopped.
During my time of believing in God, I was taught and worshipped Jesus as our savior who will return the second time and try our souls. Then all of us shall defeat death with his aid. Those who were faithful have established a relationship with God will go to heaven. Those who have not made a relationship with God cannot make one and will be tried for that, and go to Hell since they cannot live with God, because they did not accept God.
Now when I stopped believing, I see Jesus as a man. I respect his ethics since they are the foundation of modern laws.
Stealing is viewed as a large sin, no matter how trivial the item is you stole. The largest sins are brutality and suicide. Brutality since it is the opposite of their teachings and suicide is because you cannot repent, since you are dead.

Thankyou for that. It's similar to my beliefs, but pretty different. So now tat your not a Christian what do you think of "afterlife" since you used to believed in Christian beliefs.
