Why are so many people so revolved around religion to the point that it causes arguments and wars? (EX: Hundred Years War)

I'm not atheist or whatever, its just that I DO NOT CARE FOR ALL THE RELIGIOUS BULLCRAP THAT GOES ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This world has been corrupted over who or what created this freaking planet that we live on and who created the humans. There are more pressing manners like preserving it and guess what?
THE WORLD IS HERE AND THERE ISN'T ANYTHING THAT WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.
Move on, and figure out what you're going to do with your life.

Please, tell me why people are too involved in this.

In all seriousness, what's the point in this thread?

Sounds more like a rant than any serious debate.

This is because there are people known as bigots in the world. Both people of religion and Atheists, on the far sides, are too hellbent on making the world see shit their way. If people were more in the center and just let people have their own beliefs then you'd have your "let's save the world" ideal.

Unfortunately, this won't happen because people are too stubborn to believe someone can have views different than theirs.

This is a perfect answer. I never saw the point in religious vs. atheist debates. Nobody can possibly win, ever. I do, however, see a point in debates regarding philosophy, and the positives/negatives of the belief/disbelief of believing in any kind of god/God. Why? Because religious people have things to learn from atheists, and vice versa. Nobody (nor one side) has all the answers.

And how one spends his or her time is up to them, honestly. Sure, we could all be out in the developing world helping people right now, but we're not, are we.

people who are 'too' involved in religion dont do any of that. that people who cause wars are the ones that are only involved in theirselves and appearance, and use religion as a stepping stone for that. by that very nature of religion, if youre using it to fight, then youve already turned away from it.

Well, then I don't know what to say to that then. Other than the fact that I'm not an f'ing atheist or whatever! I really don't care and I'm not sure why other people care about our purpose in life or how the universe got started. We don't live in the renasance so we really shouldn't care!!!

Because people need something to hope for. We want to know that death isn't the end, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If my religion makes me happy, and it makes me a better person, what's the problem?

It's always going to be like this, neither side can ACTUALLY prove the other side wrong, so it's just constant debating and that escalates. But I don't get part of your question because wars no longer start over religion. Wars may be fought against people who have a certain religion, but that's not why wars start anymore.
