should we have plastic surgery? personally I think you should have it like medicine, only if you need it that way you don't go over kill and look ugly and hopefully this isn't gonna turn into another debate insulting eachothers countries... keep it friendly and relevant:)

Hey, I don't care what you do with your face. It's your business. But it sounds like you're implying that we should outlaw cosmetic surgery since it's technically public indecency to parade around like that. "Ugly" is what you're saying. You know, that's like me saying you can't wear makeup because I believe it's too trashy. That's fucked up, dude.

Reconstructive surgery yes but a big NO to cosmetic surgery, let nature be and deal with what you got, dont stand in the way of naturale selection

Yes, I know that. But, it sounds like you want it only for medical reasons. It seems that you wanted it to stop at that. To me, you wanted to outlaw it for cosmetic reasons because it makes them look ugly. Look, man. I'm just reading what you wrote.

I know, that's what I thought you were implying. But I don't think it's our place to outlaw Joan Rivers getting a face lift. It's not our business, not our face. It doesn't harm us, but you paint getting cosmetic surgery as public indecency that should be against the law.

I think its good to have, in-case of a person got into a serious accident and needed say face reconstruction, but other than that, for looks is debatable.

ummmmmm, those two arguments have literally nothing to do with one another.
1. Let nature be and deal with what you got
Why? Why should a person necessarily have to feel satisfied with the way they look? Who are you to say so?
That's like saying "don't smoke, nature didn't intend for you to have a risk for lung cancer, or, "don't wear clothing, nature didn't intend for that."
2. dont stand in the way of naturale selection
If you showed an understanding of simple biology, you'd understand why this makes no sense. You can do whatever you want to your body (excluding things like exposure to certain radioactivity, for example) and you won't have anything to do with natural selection.
By making that argument you're implying that it somehow disrupts natural selection to receive cosmetic surgery, but that makes literally no sense. Getting surgery (under almost - if not all - circumstances) does not mutate DNA, therefore it would have nothing to do with potential offspring, and further natural selection.

It's good for when you get into a serious accident. But if you use it to looking better...well I guess you can do whatever you want to your face or whatever, if you want to look "more beautiful"...

I think it should only be used if you get into a terrible accident and look really deformed

i dont believe we should have it at all.
though, im not too bothered with those who only use it for medically important things.
but when it comes to purely cosmetic surgery its meaningless, the only reason people do it is because society teaches you to hate how you look.

yep, plastic surgery can be life-changing and has helped people's quality of life. Of course too much of something has the reverse effect.

any nose you don't like it's your own opinion that matters I am 100% in favor of plastic surgery however people can go overkill

I'd probably fix my eyes, toes, and fingers, maybe even my lips, but thats debatable.
So based off of that, it's obvious I'm alright with it. But it's something that you should be careful with

I believe you should only have plastic surgery when you get injured and your physical appearance is affected, or if you need it for other reason like if you want to get cancer removed.

I believe these procedures are necessary in the sense to help people who have had accidents and need facial reconfiguration, etc. but for beauty purposes not so much. But the world we live is one that that thrives under appearances so of course the plastic surgery industry flourishes under people who have low esteem about their personal body image.

I would never get plastic surgery (unless my face was torn off in an accident or something), but it can be right for some people. If you need a smaller nose or bigger lips to be happy, well, then get plastic surgery.
However, I dislike the plastic surgery industry for feeding on and encouraging self-hatred and vanity.

I am for plastic reconstruction. Cosmetic, I dunno, I am satisfied with my looks so I did not think about it.

If people aren't happy with the way they look, why shouldn't they be able to change themselves?
I have limb rejection with my left leg. Why shouldn't I be able to get it removed if I want to?

I don't really think we should have plastic surgery for any reason other than the fact that your face or body was mutilated in an accident. I myself wouldn't ever get plastic surgery for anything other than that reason alone, besides, have you seen an older person who had a lot of work done and look a lot older than they are?

Plastic surgery to correct a small thing on one's body that won't make you look like the next thing from night of the living dead or for cases of reconstruction for medical purposes or correcting a small blemish is okay.
But in the case of cosmetic surgery that can go horribly wrong and make you look like some movie prop from Night of the Living Dead then no. It should not be used.
I managed to convince a friend of mine to not get cosmetic surgery to have her nose done because it looks fine on her and I managed to change her mind about that aswell. Right now's she's happy with her nose. She only disliked it because people were making fun of her for it, but only a few people since most people actually liked her nose. So yeah, if you hate your image because someone says so, remember that someone else will always think differently from the people hating you.
