I was browsing Facebook of all place when I stumbled upon this little cartoon in my news feed. Now, I have my own opinions on it's meaning but I'm curious as to what VTers see from it. And furthermore, do you all agree with the messages sent by this cartoon?

I think it's the teacher changing the child's views with her own, maybe propaganda?

I see a teacher taking student's creative ideas and teaching straight-forward simple ideas. I also see her taking ideas and thoughts and forcing them into a certain standard.

ie.
>Math: Students find different ways to solve it, but she is making them only use one method.
>Global Warming: Students have their own opinions, but she won't let them express their ideas.

I actually interpret it differently than the two people above me. Rather than the teacher "forcing" her students to learn her way of thinking, she is forcing them to learn the mandated way of thinking/learning of the education system.
This is because of the following: There would be no reason why she would be thinking the same thing as everyone else - after all, she is an 'adult' individual with her own thoughts and ideas. The kids are trusting her (they look young, maybe they don't know better?) to tell them what is correct, and therefore she is able to "teach" them what she has to.

This is what I think it's best interpretation is.

I think that it shows how the public school system doesn't focus on indeviduals enough, but rather forcing everyone to learn the same exact way.

This photo shows four different students that all had their own individual opinions and thought process. The teacher sculpted the students to think just like her.

As a high schooler, I have noticed the majority of teachers act like this. Teachers will penalize students for thinking outside the box or having different opinions. They will only accept an answer if one finds it the way that the teacher did. They discourage thinking outside the box and the formation of different own opinions.
