They sicken me. Everywhere I look, it's couples. People in my year, Oona and Jack, Elina and Andrew, Ciara and Niall, Tim and Michelle, Emma and Graham, Emily and Gary, they're everywhere and I can't escape them. Yeah, Emma and Emily and Ciara are my friends, but I can't stand seeing them with their boyfriends. It's so, ugh. And long story short I like Emily and Fred, a guy in my class, knows and is going to tell everyone. :(
Once again, I hate couples.

Well, think of it this way, during middle and high-school. "Those so called couples " won't last more than a year; Though there are a few occasions. When your in high school, a lot the students there don't know the difference between lust or love. I would go more in depth but I'm going to try to keep this short and simple. Don't rush into a relationship because everyone is doing it. Just watch and learn from all of those people mistakes. Once you get into college, things will get more serious.

This is one of the greatest things I have ever read. I totally 50000% agree with this and this is why I haven't dated in high school.
Anyways, yeah. You just kinda have to be happy for them. How would you want them to act to you if you had a significant other? It really does suck, but you kinda just have to let them be.

I do agree on one level with all of this.
But my couple hating self disagrees. I don't wang a relationship cos everyone's doing, I want one cos I'm lonely. i feel unloved, and partially to prove to myself I can get someone. I try to be happy for them, but all the hand holding and snogging is just so "Hey, we're in a relationship, EAT THAT MOTHERFUCKER"

The last part made me laugh. I also felt unloved and lonely for the past few years. I think that a lot of people are in relationships for the wrong reason. Pressure, or because they're friends are doing it? I wasn't in a relationship until a bit over a week ago.
Though, I can see where you're coming from. I'm sure you will find someone. Being single doesn't mean you are weak. It means that you're strong enough to wait for the right person. Good luck.

Whenever I see couples such as that, I just tell myself that their hormones aren't allowing them to think logically, thereby disallowing them from seeing how ridiculous they look, and that I may silently laugh at them as a result.

It's tough being gay/bi. I'm gay/bi too (but I'm a boy), and I must say you never see LGBTQ couples at school. There were two freshmen girls who were pretty public about their relationship, and I respect them for that, but you have to understand that many non-heterosexual students are scared of having relationships in public, or just would rather keep theirs private.

That's not it. There's a second year I know, Dan, and he has a public relationship with his boyfriend. Like, they met in front of my friend. Very open. I respect them immensely. And yes, I understand, not many people are that open. But I hope, if I ever have a girlfriend, that we'll break the mould.

I used to feel the same way. One half of me used to love couples because they're so adorable, and the other half used to be jealous of their happiness. I learned to get over that though, and now I'm happy for the people are are happy.
